About Coach Kelly
I started running back in 1999 as a freshman in college after babysitting for a mom who was an avid marathon runner inspired me. My first race ever was my junior year in college at the Chicago Half Marathon that resulted in a did not finish. Imagine the disappointment I felt in not being able to cross the finish line and instead end up in the hospital due to dehydration after passing out at mile 12.5 of a 13.1 mile race. Within a week of that scare, I was back out running and knew that running what I was meant to do. Since that first DNF, I went on to run my first Chicago Marathon in 2001 as a senior in college, and haven’t stopped! I have run 38 marathons (and counting!) with a personal best of 3:31:11, including the Boston and New York marathons. I have a desire to run a marathon in all 50 states as well as become a 6 star finisher with the Abbot World Major Marathons. I know what it takes to work hard for a goal and the drive it takes to get there. From knowing the disappointment that comes from failing during a race to not letting it define you as a runner, I am able to bring this 17 year experience as a runner to my coaching career to help YOU reach YOUR goals.
